More than 20,000 tickets was sold out.
Around 20,000 people converge at the SM Megamall Megatrade Hall to take part in the 10th Philippine Toys, Hobbies, and Collectibles Convention held last weekend.
The event, organized by Collectibles Unlimited, staged different line of events at the entire three (3) halls of the Megatrade Hall.
The event also marked the first leg of filming for the Chinese-produced international film “Cosplay Nation”, which is headlined by Chinese personalities Linda Le, Grace Cheng Yi, and also featured the prominent Filipino ciosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao.
ABS-CBN also made its presence at the event, with “May Bukas Pa” star Zaijan Jaranilia opening the doors to the event.
Anime Alliance Philippines has told ZEN Otaku Honbu that approxmately 22,000 people have attended the two day event.
The popular pop-culture blogger Mike Abundo has told ZEN Otaku Honbu that he was happy about the “geekiness” and the enthusiasm of the audience.
“Not only it is the biggest I’ve seen, but also is the enthusiastic that I’ve seen… and that is what being a geek is all about.” Abundo said.
Also spotted on the first day was the Internet Radio host Angel Rivero, cosplaying the Final Fantasy XIII character Sarah Farron.
And the TV5 host Maverick Relova was also seen on the second day of the event.
Six different cosplayers won in different categories at last saturday’s individual competition.

The winners of the individual cosplay competition also got the chance to be a part of the Cosplay Nation movie.
Topacio, which is one of the members, has told ZEN Otaku Honbu that they we’re happy and did not expect to win the competition.
She also added that aside from the fighting scenes, they also have a story and some drama on their performance.
The group will represent the Philippines in the Asia Cosplay Meet Grand Finals in Singapore to be held on June 25 and 26 against cosplayers from Singapore, Malaysia, South Korea, and a country yet to be named.
Activities on the second day include the Group Cosplay competition and the main filming of the Cosplay Nation movie.
