Report features PlayStation Vita, Street Fighter X Tekken, Final Fantasy XIII-2.
This week’s episode of Patrol ng Pilipino, one of ABS-CBN’s current affairs programs, features a report on the Tokyo Game Show 2011.
The episode, which was first show on cable news channel DZMM Teleradyo before its actual airing on terrestrial Channel 2, features ABS-CBN news reporter Jeff Canoy attending the convention which was held from September 16-18, 2011 at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba Prefecture.
The Tokyo Game Show is an annual event held since 1996 which features the newest video games, gaming consoles, and gaming technologies from various companies in Japan. The first two days of the event are reserved for business transactions, while the other two days are open to the public.
The report highlighted the PlayStation Vita, the latest portable gaming console from Sony which features, among other things, a 5″ OLED multi-touch touchscreen, GPS, and 3G connectivity. Final Fantasy XIII-2, the latest incarnation of the Final Fantasy franchise, was also featured, revealing that Filipina singer Charice will perform the game’s English theme song.
The episode also featured interviews with Filipino gaming blogger Marnell Delos Reyes (www.marnelldelosreyes.com) and cosplayer Alodia Gosengfiao, sharing their thoughts on the various aspects of gaming. A couple of cosplay shots from the Tokyo Game Show and Best of Anime 2011 were also shown.
