Unemployed man, 32, sent over 500 emails to novel author.
Taking fandom into a more stranger level.
Newspapers report on Thursday, April 12, that the police have arrested a man whom they suspect of sending threatening messages to Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai author Tsukasa Fushimi.
Tokyo’s Kojimachi Police has identified the suspect as Aoi Noboru, who is 32 years old, unemployed, and is from Anan City in Tokushima Prefecture.
According to the police, the suspect has expressed his dismay over the recent story of the OreImo, especially that the character “Kuroneko” (Ruri Goto) is given much more attention.
He learned the email address of the novel author from her official website in November, and from that point had allegedly sent over 500 emails that threaten the author’s life. In one of his email to the author, he wrote “I want to strike the dead body of Kuroneko at you.”
Aoi also allegedly sent Fushimi an image threatening to cut off the author’s head.
The suspect has reported to have admitted to the charges.
