For more 10,000 fans who entered the SM Megamall Megatrade Halls 1-3 and the Function rooms, They will never forget the day ABS-CBN star Sarah Geronimo arrived in a costume.
They were among the witnesses to the biggest Philippine Toys, Hobbies and Collectibles convention ever held, and even though a typhoon was threatening to hit the country, no weather disturbance can hamper the fans’ whetting appetite to attend the years’ biggest pop culture event.
Alongside the tens of thousands of fans who entered the event to enjoy today’s festivities, 149 individual cosplayers competed in the first day of the Cosplay Universe competition.
Not surprisingly, most of the competitors of the Cosplay Universe competition were sorted in the Anime category which was called “The Anime Planet”, other categories were for Games, TV and Movies, Comics and Toys.
The highlight of the event was the guesting of ABS-CBN star and the country’s “Popstar Princess” Sarah Geronimo, who cosplayed a character from one of Amped’s titles “Shaiya”. She was joined with famous cosplayer Alodia Gosiengfiao with her sister Ashley.
Fans went nuts when the singer greeted the crowd in the stage located in the Megatrade Hall 3. She also gamely posed with the fans for photo ops.
Earlier, Another Kapamilya Star, Child Actor Zaijan Jaranilla cut the ribbon in the start of the festivities, He also went to the function hall and explored all the toy exhibits on display.
