
Series ends on Volume 38, but author is open for a possible continuation.
On the 38th and final volume of the popular manga series Negima! Magister Negi Magi! includes author Ken Akamatsu’s afterword, which says that the manga is done “for now.”
Emphasizing the phrase ”for now” that leaves a possibility for the series to be revived.
The author also said that there are enough mysteries that could last for a hundred more volumes, and adds “… The ending in this volume is only one from a number of different parallel worlds.”
Negima! Magister Negi Magi! is a popular fantasy comedy manga series by Ken Akamatsu, creator of anime series Love Hina. The series was serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine in February 2003.
It is a story of ten-year-old prodigy Negi Springfield, who had just graduated from magic academy, and in order to become a master mage he is sent to Japan to teach English at an all-girls middle school. But Negi has a bigger dream than just becoming a master mage. He wants to find his missing father, “The Thousand Master”, the strongest mage that has ever lived. And he soon finds that searching for his father wont be as easy as he first hoped. In fact, it pushes him and his students into life-or-death battles that decides the fate of millions. The series has inspired two anime adaptations, numerous OVA series, and film adaptation last year. It was announced last Feburary that the manga series is set to end.
