TV5 stars, Cosplay Heavyweights, join in fifth installment of events.
The stars surely have aligned at the SMX Convention Center Function Halls 3-5 as different personalities converged together for the first day of Cosplay Mania 2012 Saturday.
TV5 returned to the Cosplay Mania scene after two years with a bang as they promoted their currently airing fantasy series “Enchanted Garden” and “Third Eye” while they also promoted their upcoming fantasy series “Kidlat.”
The Manuel V. Pangilinan-led network was headlined by Kidlat lead actors Derek Ramsay and Ritz Azul, alongside the cast of Enchanted Garden which was led by BB Gandanghari.
TV5 Entertainment head Perci Intalan was also there to grace the event which was hosted by PBA on AKTV courtside reporter Erika Padilla.
Aside from TV5, Cosplay Mania 12’s international guests, Kaname☆, Reika and Jesuke were there to add spice to the Philippines premiere cosplay event
Kaname☆ endeared the fans with his Cosplay charm as he went up on stage in front of screaming fans.
He says through his interpreter that it was his first time to see Philippine cosplayers and that he hopes to do cosplay with them in the future.
Later, they judged the Project Cosplay: Solo competition where 122 cosplayers paraded along the catwalk which was also witnessed by Gandanghari, who announced the TV5’s Pick.
Kaname also joined in the Cosplay Photobomb contest to the delight of the participants and the fans in the stage.
Later today, Reika will be presenting her cosplay prowess to the thousands in attendance, as well as the Cosplay Building Competition, the Project Cosplay: Group Category and the much awaited Cosplay Tournament of Champions: Third Impact, where 8 teams will slug it out to become the Philippine representative to the Anime Festival Asia 2012 Asian Regional Cosplay Championships, where the Philippines is the defending champion.
