ZEN Otaku Honbu has learned that the Filipino-language anime channel HEROtv is set to air the sci-fi drama anime Suisei no Gargantia together with three “Theatrixx” titles this November.
While fighting an intense inter-galactic war, a mecha pilot was accidentally warped into a space-time neither he nor the computer of his mecha could recognize. After waking up from a long-time hibernation, he found himself trapped on a planet, with human residents talking in an unknown form of language, using inferior technologies, and — most shocking to him — naturally breathable air. Suisei no Gargantia, also known by the English title Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet, is an original anime series produced by Production I.G.
Kazuya Murata, who directed Fullmetal Alchemist: The Sacred Star of Milos, both directed and created the concept together with Fate/Zero creator Gen Urobuchi, who also supervised the anime’s scripts. Hanaharu Naruko, who worked on the supernatural comedy manga Kamichu!, served as the anime’s character designer.
The series premiered in Japan last April 07 which ran until June 30, and has 13 episodes. This also makes the first anime title airing on HEROtv the same year it was aired in Japan — about five (5) months after it ended.
Suisei no Gargantia premieres on November 21 (Thursday) and airs Monday to Friday nights at 10:00pm, replacing Fate/Zero.
We also learned that HEROtv is set to offer three new titles for the “Theatrixx” movie block, which are the American CGI adaptation of Astro Boy, Shinichi Kudo’s Written Challenge! The Mystery of the Legendary Strange Bird, and Hetalia: Axis Powers the Movie – Paint it White.
Set in an alternate future where there are two types of civilazation. Those who are rich are able to live in Metro City a floating utopia that is populated with humans and robots a like. While those who are poor live on the Earth’s surface where the lower class humans and discharged robots created their own utopia out of scrap and metal. In Metro City lived a brilliant scientist named Dr. Tenma who created a robtic boy that resembles his deceased son Toby. Hoping that the robot will make a perfect replacement over the one he lost, but was tormented that the robot he created was nothing like Toby. Abandoned by the only one he sees as a father, Astro Boy embarks on a journey to find a place that would accept him for who he is. Astro Boy premieres on Saturday, November 02, with a repeat on Sunday, November 10, at 12:00am, 12:00pm, and 09:00pm. Also on Sunday, November 17, at 12:00pm.

Shinichi, Ran, Sonoko and Eri travel to a remote area in the mountains where there is a legend of a large Otori bird, similar to shrikes, that takes people and make them it’s “hayanie”. A hayanie is when an animal is forcefully stabbed and impaled onto a branch or barbed wire by the Otori bird. While visiting the village, the four meet up with the Wakura family, which consists of a father, two sons, and two daughters. But almost immediately, someone ends up impaled atop God’s Perch, a shrine devoted to pleasing the giant Otori, and the village is thrown into chaos. Soon after, another victim surfaces and the telephone lines are cut. The wooden bridge leading from the village to the outside world is even destroyed. It soon becomes apparent that the culprit is targeting the Wakura family, and Shinichi investigates. But the mysteries pile up on each other and the impossible murders get even more puzzling. Shinichi Kudo’s Written Challenge! The Mystery of the Legendary Strange Bird premieres on Sunday, November 03, at 12:00am, 12:00pm, and 09:00pm, with repeats on Sunday, November 24, at 12:00am and 09:00pm
The tokusatsu series Power Rangers: Operation Overdrive is set to have its channel premiere on November 08 (Friday), airing Monday to Friday nights at 07:00pm, replacing Absolutely Lovely Children. The series was previously aired on terrestrial network ABS-CBN and animation channel Cartoon Network Philippines a few years ago.
Also, Titles that are set to return next month include One Outs, Devil May Cry, Kyouran Kazoku Nikki, Gakuen Utopia Manabi Straight, Ran the Samurai Girl, Kuroko’s Basketball, and Bleach movies 2-4.
