Fifth Naruto Shippuden movie coming to home video in North America this February.
North American manga & anime distributor Viz Media has announced on Wednesday that they are now accepting pre-sale orders for the anime feature film Naruto Shippuden: Blood Prison.
Naruto Shippuden: Blood Prison is set to be released on DVD and Blu-ray discs on February 18, 2014 (Tuesday) and will be available in selected retailers in North America. It will also be available in a Download-to-own edition, but more information will be released on platforms carrying the title.
In his new adventure, Naruto is convicted of a serious crime he didn’t commit and is sent to the inescapable prison, Hozuki Castle. The warden, Mui, quickly seals away Naruto’s chakra to prevent him from rebelling. Refusing to give up, Naruto plans his escape while also befriending his fellow inmates Ryuzetsu and Maroi. But he can’t help but wonder what their ulterior motives are…
“In this exciting new film release, the world’s most popular ninja is falsely sent to a notorious prison for attempting to assassinate the Raikage, the leader of the Hidden Cloud Village, and fans are invited to secure their copies now during this preorder period,” says Charlene Ingram, Senior Manager, Animation Marketing. “Someone is out to end Naruto’s life and he will have to stay alive long enough to prove his innocence and uncover the truth before time runs out for him and his friends!”
The DVD version of the anime movie will be sold with a Suggested Retail Price (SRP) of US$19.98 in the United States and CA$24.98 in Canada, while the Blu-ray version will be sold with a SRP of US$24.98 in the United States and CA$27.50 in Canada.
The home video release will also contain bonus materials such as short animation films & the original Japanese trailers of the film, but Blu-ray release will have an addition of messages from Naruto creator Masashi Kishimoto and the seiyuu (voice actor) of the character “Naruto,” Junko Takeuchi.
And each version of the releases will contain a special full-color variant O-card that will have different artwork than what is featured on the actual “Amaray” cases.
Naruto Shippuden: Blood Prison is the fifth anime feature film from the popular anime series, following “The Lost Tower”, and was released in Japanese theatres on July 30, 2011.
