ZEN Otaku Honbu is a News website dedicated to bringing the latest news and events from the World of Animé, Manga, and Japanese Pop-culture in the Philippines and the rest of the world.

Our reportage is specially focused on news about the latest anime titles airing on Philippine TV channels, both on Terrestrial and on Pay TV. We also report on the latest animé -related events happening around the country and other anime and manga news that may be of interest to our readers.

ZEN Otaku Honbu started its roots as a forum site in 2005 which became a ground for intelligent & opinionated discussion about Japanese Pop-culture, specifically Anime.

ZENhonbu’s news operation started in 2008 and it is not until 2010 when launched its own news website (zenhonbuph.net), which include three blogs. ZENhonbu also has an increasing presence in social networking sites like Facebook (fb.zenhonbuph.net), Twitter (twitter.com/zenhonbu ), Google+ (gplus.to/zenhonbuph), and Tumblr (zenhonbu.tumblr.com).

Since then, ZEN Otaku Honbu has been making great leaps in giving Pinoy anime fans serious, straight-forward, timely and relevant anime news & opinions every day.

Yearly, ZEN Otaku Honbu organizes the Otaku’s Verdict (otakusverdict.zenhonbuph.net) online polls. Every December, Nominees from different categories are chosen by anime fans to determine everything about the Philippine’s anime scene in the past year.

Categories include programming, popularity, and the overall outlook of anime programming in the Philippines.

Otaku’s Verdict has evolved dramatically from its humble beginnings in 2005 with record voting levels exceeding every year. Otaku’s Verict 2010 currently holds the record for the most number of accumulative votes with more than 10,000 votes in 34 categories.

ZENhonbu will continue to strive for excellence in Anime Journalism by bringing fair, balanced, objective, insightful and fearless anime news, blogs and opinions to the Filipino anime fans.
