Series set to air ‘same time as Japan’, first time after three years.
Pay TV anime channel ANIMAX Asia has announced through a series of commercials and a press release that it will premiere the new anime series K on a “same time telecast” basis on October 05, and set to air every Friday at 01:35 am MNL in Japanese audio with English subtitles.
This is a considerable 1-hour delay from its initial telecast on MBS in Kyoto, Japan at 12:30 am MNL (01:30 am Tokyo).
ANIMAX describes K in its press release as being “set in a futuristic Japan that took a different path in history where it is imagined to have isolated itself from the rest of the world” and where “a war between Japan’s seven lords… with highly destructive special powers – is about to break out.”
It goes on to describe the five main characters of the series, but apart from that provided no further information about K‘s plot.
Many of the characters will be voiced by famous Japanese voice actors, including Daisuke Namikawa (as Yashiro Isana), Daisuke Ono (Kuroh Yatogami), Mikako Komatsu (as Neko), Jun Fukuyama (as Misaki Yata), Miyuki Sawashiro (as Seri Awashima), and Yui Horie (as Anna Kushina).
ANIMAX has aired a number of other anime titles in the past on a simulcast basis, such as Tears to Tiara (same-time telecast, 2009), Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (same-week telecast, 2009), Inuyasha: The Final Act (same-week telecast, 2009), and Kaichou wa Maid-sama! (same-week telecast, 2010).[jwplayer mediaid=”4882″] [jwplayer mediaid=”4884″]
