Naruto: Road to Ninja premieres on April 10, Hunter × Hunter: Phantom Rouge slated sometime in June.
Film distributor Pioneer Films announced two more anime films that they have acquired and will be screened exclusively by SM Cinema in the coming months: Naruto: Road to Ninja and Hunter × Hunter: Phantom Rouge.
Also, a source close to Pioneer Films tells ZEN Otaku Honbu that the Hunter × Hunter movie is expected to be screened sometime in June this year, but no definite timeframe has been given.
This came on the heels of their first announcement for the movie One Piece Film: Z which will also exclusively premiere on SM Cinema on May 1.
Naruto: Road to Ninja is the ninth movie in the Naruto franchise which first premiered in Japan on July 28, 2012. The film made more than ¥ 1.46 billion (about PH₱ 626 million) in the Japanese box office, making it the highest-grossing Naruto movie. It tackles the backstory behind the titular character Naruto Uzumaki and how the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox was sealed inside his body.
Hunter × Hunter: Phantom Rouge is the first Hunter × Hunter film which was released in Japan last January 12. The movie features an all-original story which revolves around Kurapika and his hunt for the Phantom Troupe, the group that eradicated the enitre Kurta clan besides himself.
Meanwhile, Pioneer Films says that it plans to organize a cosplay event to celebrate the premiere of One Piece Film: Z, but gave no other details about it.
Last January 1st, ZEN Otaku Honbu has been rebranded as Anime Pilipinas.
New Name, but still has the same goal in going deeper into the Japanese Anime
