Popular anime series airs on April 23, replacing Kamisama Dolls.
In an unexpected move, The Filipino language anime channel HEROtv has announced through an advertisement, posted on facebook on Thursday, that the popular sci-fi anime series Tiger & Bunny will premiere on Tuesday, April 23.
It is set to air on Monday to Friday nights at 07:30pm, with repeats at 01:30am, 07:30am, and 01:30am.
The anime is set to replace Kamisama Doll, which replaced the popular anime The World God Only Knows that was originally scheduled to air on April 04 but was postponed due to issues with its licensor.
Sternbild City is home to people called “Next,” who use their special abilities to protect the people as superheroes. These heroes solve cases and save lives so they can wear sponsor logos or acquire “hero points.” Their activities are documented on the popular program “Hero TV,” which picks the “King of Heroes” in a yearly ranking. The veteran hero Wild Tiger has always preferred to work alone, but now he’s been assigned the rookie Barnaby Brooks Jr., who has a different perspective on being a superhero. Tiger & Bunny is a anime series produced by Japanese animation studio Sunrise under the supervision of Saint Seiya the Movie director Keiichi Satou, with screenplay by Masafumi Nishida, with original character design by DNA² creator Masakazu Katsura.
The anime series premiered in Japan in April 2010, and was licenced by VizMedia for North America in June 2011. It also inspired two anime movie adaptations, Gekijou-ban Tiger & Bunny -The Beginning screened September last year and Gekijō-ban Tiger & Bunny -The Rising set to screen this year, and a stage play which also ran last year.
Last January 1st, ZEN Otaku Honbu has been rebranded as Anime Pilipinas.
